Kester will be exhibiting (booth #131) at Surface Mount Technology Association International (SMTAI) 2015, which will take place September 29-30 at the Donald Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.

Kester’s booth will offer attendees the opportunity to meet with the R&D and sales teams, and learn more about new products, including NP505-HR a zero-halogen, lead-free, no-clean solder paste formula developed specifically for high reliability applications, and NF372-TB a zero-halogen, no-clean, low solids liquid flux designed to withstand long dwell times and high preheat temperatures needed in thick board assemblies.

In addition to exhibiting, Kester will be participating in the NPL Solder Paste and Solder Joint Automatic Inspection Experience in the Exhibit Hall September 29-30 and is free to attend. On September 29 at 2:00PM, Kester’s Xiang (Shawn) Wei, Ph.D. will present “Partially-Activated” Flux Residue Influence on Surface Insulation Resistance of Electronic Assembly. This session will focus on new developments and reliability challenges in the no-clean solder paste and flux arena. On October 1 at 10:30AM, Kester’s Global R&D Director, Bruno Tolla, will present Reactivity of No-Clean Flux Residues in Electronic Assemblies: A Systematic Study. This session reports the latest research in better understanding corrosion and flux residue impacts relating to surface electromigration failure mechanisms. “SMTAI is known as being the conference that keeps attendees well-informed on new technology advancements and industry best practices. As components and assemblies become more advanced, new challenges confront the industry such as evolving reliability concerns.  Kester is excited to lead sessions at SMTAI to help increase the industry’s knowledge on these topics, and introduce innovative new products like our NP505-HR paste and NF372-TB flux that were designed to meet these new reliability needs while delivering excellent performance,” stated Lynnette Colby, Kester’s Global Product and Applications Manager.
