Lead-Free Solder Materials

With Kester's Lead-Free Solder Materials, process engineers have access to the most complete line of lead-free products and chemistries in the industry, backed by Kester's unsurpassed experience in soldering technology. Kester has over one hundred years of soldering experience that can easily be used to help companies understand the challenges associated with the transition from leaded to lead-free soldering. Our goal is to assist companies make a smooth transition to lead-free assembly.

Kester Lead-Free Solder Materials are comprised of lead-free solder pastes for both no-clean and water-soluble assembly; wave solder fluxes, both alcohol and VOC-free, formulated for lead-free soldering; and rework and hand assembly compatible lead-free solders. Our materials also include solder bar, solder preforms, tacky soldering fluxes, solder spheres and bumping pastes all designed to enable lead-free assembly.

In order to make the transition from leaded to lead-free manufacturing Kester has developed unique product packaging for dual lead and unleaded assembly. Kester offers a triangular shaped lead-free solder bar for easy distinction on the assembly floor from the hexagonal shaped leaded bars. Our green paste cartridges and jars as well as the green wire solder packaging will also help workers identify lead-free products quickly and easily on the manufacturing floor.

Kester recognizes the many changes required to effectively implement lead-free assembly reliably and without reduction in production output. Lead-Free Materials also includes Kester's know-how to assist customers wishing to go lead-free. Training courses are offered to train personnel in lead-free SMT, wave soldering and rework. These courses bring practical knowledge and experience to the user, enabling the fulfillment of a company's training requirements and the rapid implementation of reliable lead-free assembly.
